Create an extra $5000 a week from a simple retail process
When turnover is static or maybe even dropping, what can you do about it? You may still have many faithful customers and the transaction count may be much the same, but they are simply spending less. And given the economic climate that prevails through local and global markets, then its predictable that the consumer will hold onto cash before they spend it.
The good news is that no matter whats happening, your customers still love a bargain. And with a good POS solution, bargains can be delivered very easily and very effectively.
Consider the following scenarios in a retail store.
- Shopper buys a 2 litre Coca Cola for $2.99. sale = $2.99
- Shopper buys a 2 litre Coca Cola for $2.99, and gets another
2 litre Coca Cola AND a Peters 2 litre Ice Cream for another $3.00.
sale = $5.99. Value of the purchase = $9.89.
The outcome is a true bargain for the customer and more revenue for you, the retailer. A win-win!
Naturally it requires a good purchase price from the manufacturer or supplier, but I can assure you that in tough economic conditions, these business’ are looking for revenue also, and there is very strong probability that you can put together multiple “deals” every week. And deals add revenue!
Taking the second shopper scenario, and spinning the deal out to say 100 customers per day (supermarket scenario), then you have added $2100 a week to the turnover. Have at least 3 deals running and you’re up to an extra $6000+ a week.
Its not difficult and if you are using a POS system like Profit Track, the system will even prompt the cashier when any item in the deal is scanned at the checkout. This then ensures that your staff utilise every chance possible to prompt the customer to take the deal.
From this perspective its critical to be utilising deal process’s in your store.
