Will your business suffer from a bad investment decision.
Here is a question for you….
Why are there squillions of cheap point of sale systems available?
Answer. Because they all do just a little and not much more.
Second question: why would you purchase a cheap system when its such an important part of your business?
I raise these questions because they are very relevant in quiet trading periods. So many times I have heard pos system seekers make the same comments…”I can get it cheaper elsewhere”, “can you make the screens cheaper”, “I’m not paying that for some registers”.
The thing is that these are not just registers …anymore!
When you look at all the major retailers look at the tools they are using. Yes they are high quality systems that are at the higher end of the scale, but why would they purchase these when they can have the cheap stuff too!
Answer: because its a business system!
If you a running a retail business with just a simple cash register, then you are not in business.
The POS systems today are vital operations that do much more than process transactions. They monitor sales, analyse gross profit, give you sales trends, tell you whats not moving, highlight the specials that do and don’t work, tell you how much stock there is, highlight slow moving sections, and so on… The list goes on and on.

You can not do this in your head. But if you think you can and want to compete in your market then forget it. Buy a cheap register and watch your business slowly go down the gurgler.
Don’t waste your time, and your money. When you buy cheap guess what you get! If cost is a problem go through your options. Today its simple to rent a system for as little as a tank of fuel a week. Avoid being pent up about the cost.
The true cost is what it will do for your business that you don’t know about yet. Research the vendor, find out what all the features are in the software, and get the vendor to explain all the business enhancing benefits of each feature. If the vendor does this well you can almost quantify the profit that each system will generate.
Do away with the small thinking and invest wisely in a business tool that today bears no resemblance to the simple cash registers of yesteryear.
If you were running an airline would you use a tigermoth or a jet liner?
